How to Mount a Bausch & Lomb Scope

Bausch &Lomb produces rifle scopes under the name of Bushnell. Bushnell quality scopes are relatively inexpensive. The models of scopes vary from medium power targets scopes to high powered scopes for long-range hunting. You can mounted them on your firearm using conventional scope mounts or tactical rail mounts. Rail mounts are common on military type rifles, but are also very popular on sporting guns. Before you mount your scope, make sure that your weapon is unloaded.

Instructions

  1. Conventional Mounts

    • 1

Remove the top halves of the scope rings -- most rings require a 7/16 Allen wrench. Place your scope onto the rings and put the tops back on, but do not completely tighten the screws.

    • 2

Adjust your scope for adequate eye relief and make sure that the scope's crosshairs appear straight up and straight across when viewed through the eyepiece.

    • 3

Finish tightening the screws on the scope mounts.

    Rail Mounts

    • 4

Remove the top halves of the scope rings, place your scope onto the rings with the base retentions screws facing right (when viewed from behind), and put the tops back, but do not completely tighten them.

    • 5

Loosen the retention screws -- they are at the base of the scope rings -- and spread the mounting bracket apart.

    • 6

Position the scope on the rail mount with the retention screws placed in the slots that are cut across the rail mount.

    • 7

Place the mounting bracket over the sides of the mount, and secure it by tightening the retention screws.

    • 8

Adjust your scope to give you adequate eye relief and make sure that the crosshairs appear straight up and straight across when viewed through the scope. Finish tightening the screws on the scope rings.
