What Are the Elevation Adjustments for a Redfield Partner Scope?

Redfield makes a series of hunting and wildlife viewing optics. Included in this product line are their rifle scopes. These scopes come in a variety of ranges and fields of view, but share common attributes. The Redfield rifle scopes, whether it is the Partner series (now retired) or the Revolution, all use an elevation adjustment. This helps bring the scope into range on the vertical plane, allowing more accurate shots when target shooting or hunting.
  1. Accu-Trac

    • Redfield equips their rifle scopes with two different adjustment barrels. These are combined to make their Accu-Trac system of adjusting. The elevation adjustment is located on the top/middle section of the scope.

    Finger Adjustment - High

    • By turning the elevation barrel to the left or right in one quarter click increments, the rifle's accuracy is improved based on the vertical plane. Setting up a target approximately 100 yards away, then taking a shot, gives an idea if the scope and rifle are shooting above or below the target. By turning the barrel to the right, the scope and rifle adjust to go higher on the vertical plane; this is good if you are shooting below the target.

    Finger Adjustment - Low

    • Turning the elevation to the left lowers the rifle's shot on the vertical plane; this is good if your practice shot was too high.

    Combining the Wind Adjustments

    • When the elevation adjustments are finalized, the scopes use what is called the Wind Adjuster to zero in on the target on the horizontal plane. Using the two adjustments combined provides an accurate shot for your target shooting or hunting quarry.
