How to Mount a Scope on a Marlin 30-30

The Marlin 336C is a lever-action rifle chambered to use 30-30 ammunition. The rifle features a six-round tubular magazine and a walnut stock. The rifle comes standard with open iron sights, but can easily be mounted with a scope by using the predrilled and taped screw holes that are on top of the upper receiver. Mounting a scope to your Marlin rifle can greatly improve your accuracy whether you're hunting or target shooting.

Instructions

    • 1

Check your rifle's action and make sure the rifle is unloaded.

    • 2

Use your small flat head screwdriver to remove the scope mounting plug screws from the top of the rifle's upper receiver -- directly above the action.

    • 3

Place the scope mount bases on the top of your rifle. Align the holes in the bases with the screw holes in the rifle and use the supplied screws to secure the bases to the upper receiver.

    • 4

Insert the bottoms of the scope rings into the holes in the mount bases and rotate them 90 degrees. They will lock into place.

    • 5

Separate the tops of the scope rings by unscrewing the retention screws on the sides of the rings with the supplied Allen wrench. Position your scope as desired and put the tops back on the rings.
