Steps for Adjusting a Simmons Blazer Scope

Simmons Blazer rifle scopes are inexpensive scopes designed for medium-range shooting. The scopes have adjustable power and fully coated optics, indicating that all lens surfaces exposed to air have a layer of protective coating. The scopes are preset for parallax error compensation for 100 yards. Parallax error is the illusion of target movement caused by shifts in the shooter's line of sight; generally, this occurs when viewing a target at long range with a higher magnification setting.

Instructions

    • 1

Sight in your Blazer scope by using the cross-hair adjustment dials located on the top and the right side of the scope body. Adjust the scope's windage -- the horizontal adjustment -- by turning the dial on the right side of the scope clockwise to move the crosshairs left or counterclockwise to move the crosshairs right.

    • 2

Adjust the scope's elevation setting -- the vertical adjustment -- by turning the top dial clockwise to bring the crosshairs down and counter-clockwise to move the crosshairs up.

    • 3

Set your scope magnification as desired by rotating the variable power ring located on the eyepiece to the appropriate magnification setting.
