The Pros & Cons of a Glock 27

The Glock model 27 is a sub-compact pistol, chambered for the powerful .40 caliber bullet. Because of the size of this pistol, it is commonly used as a backup or concealed carry weapon.
  1. Pros

    • Glock pistols are lightweight, simple in design and extremely reliable. The pistol features a "safe action" system, the series of internal safeties to keep the weapon uncocked unless being fired.

    Cons

    • A disadvantage of the G27 is the absence of a manual safety. Unlike traditional pistols, which have a safety bar that must be disengaged to fire the pistol, the Glock relies totally on internal safeties. The disadvantage is that -- should it get into the wrong hands -- it can be fired by simply pulling the trigger.

    Double Action Trigger

    • Whether this is a pro or con depends on your point of view. Glock pistols are designed to operate as double actions, meaning that a full trigger pull is required for every shot; unlike most traditional pistols which fire the first shot as a double action and the remaining shots in single action -- which require less trigger pull.
