How to Open a Sentry Gun Safe Lock

Sentry gun safes are an excellent way to secure your firearms or other valuables. These safes are available with combination, electronic or key locks. The combination-lock safe requires you to turn a dial to three distinct numbers in the proper order to open the safe. For the electronic-lock safe, you need to enter a five-digit code into a keypad before the door can be opened. Some electronic-lock models also require a key to open the door.

Instructions

Combination Lock

  Turn the dial to zero.

  Rotate the dial left at least three times past zero and stop on your first number.

  Rotate the dial right past your second number once. Stop on your second number.

  Rotate the dial left to your third number.

  Turn the handle on the door clockwise and open the safe.
Electronic Lock

  Enter the safe̵7;s five-digit access code into the keypad. A green light will blink and there will be a single beep to indicate that you have entered the number successfully. After entering a number you must enter the next number within 5 seconds to prevent the lock from resetting.

  Insert the key into the lock (if your safe is so equipped) and turn the key clockwise.

  Turn the handle clockwise and open the safe.
Key Lock

  Insert the key into the lock.

  Turn the key to the right.

  Open the safe door.
