Barrel
The Glock 21c is manufactured with a compensator sometimes referred to as a port designed into the barrel. These small slots allow some gases formed when you fire the pistol to escape through the top of the barrel. The compensator on the 21c is found near the end of the barrel. The Glock 21sf model has a barrel design without a compensator, which causes all the gases to be forced out of the end of its barrel.
Recoil
Shooters of the Glock 21c will experience less recoil, or kickback, than the 21sf because of the compensator located on top of the barrel. Gases released from the top of the barrel create a downward force that counteracts the upward force of recoil, commonly called muzzle lift, reducing the amount of perceived recoil you feel when shooting the firearm.
Accuracy
Mechanically, the Glock 21c and 21sf pistols are equally accurate. Your physical ability to hit a target increases from the reduction in recoil provided by a pistol designed with a barrel compensator. Because the Glock 21c has less muzzle lift, it is easier for a shooter to reposition the gun and accurately fire another round.
Pistol Grip
The part of the gun you grasp with your hand when aiming the firearm is the pistol grip. Among the parts of the pistol grip are a front grip and a back grip. The back grip faces away from the barrel, and is often referred to as the back strap. The back strap on the Glock 21sf is narrower than the 21c, making the pistol grip easier for people with small hands to grasp. Furthermore, because the 21sf has a smaller pistol grip, it is easier for some shooters with small hands to reach the trigger with their index finger.
Magazine Catch
A gun magazine is the removable mechanism containing ammunition secured inside the pistol grip of a handgun. Normally, the magazine has a release mechanism on the upper right side, also called a catch, which you activate to remove the magazine. The Glock 21sf has an ambidextrous magazine catch, which makes activating the release convenient for both left and right-handed shooters.
