How to Mount a Leupold Mark 4 on a Sako 75

Mark 4 scopes are part of Leupold's tactical rifle line of scopes. They are designed for high precision shooting and have military style reticles. They are also an excellent choice for use with a Sako model 75 rifle. Sako model 75 rifles, though no longer made, were designed with dove-tail slots milled into the upper receiver to accommodate Sako Opti-Lock scope bases. The mounts and necessary tools are included with the rifle. The Opti-Lock bases are designed to slide onto the rifle's dove-tail groves and are secured by a separate part of the base that slides onto the right side of the mount.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach the scope rings to the mounting bases with the supplied screws. The screws come up through the bottom of the bases.

    • 2

Slide the rear mounting base onto the groves milled into the upper receiver. Place the retention piece into the right side to the mounting base and secure it with the supplied screw. Repeat the process for the front mounting base.

    • 3

Remove the upper half of the scope rings and place your Leupold Mark 4 scope into the rings.

    • 4

Position the scope so it provides you sufficient eye relief and the cross-hairs appear straight up and straight across when viewed through the scope. When the scope is positioned to your satisfaction, place the upper halves of the rings back on and tighten.
