How to Install a LaserMax Glock

The LaserMax guide rod laser sight is designed to replace the original guide rod of a Glock pistol and project a bean directly from inside the housing of the pistol's upper receiver. An advantage of the LaserMax laser sight is that doesn't alter dimensions of the pistol, allowing the shooter to use the same holster. The LaserMax sight comes with batteries pre-installed and is activated by using a switch that replaces the pistol's original slide lock. The LaserMax is compatible with all Glock models with the exception of the generation four pistols.

Instructions

    • 1

Verify that your Glock pistol is unloaded and separate the pistol's lower and upper receivers.

    • 2

Remove the guide rod (located parallel to the barrel encased in a spring) and place the spring around the laser exactly as it was around the guide rod (the guide rod and the laser have identical dimensions).

    • 3

Place the guide rod laser into position exactly as the guide rod had been.

    • 4

Press the slide lock spring, with the provided tool, located on the underside of the upper receiver adjacent to the barrel assembly; this will release the guide lock spring and allow you remove the slide lock (located right behind the slide lock spring). Remove them both.

    • 5

Place the LaserMax slide lock spring into the upper receiver (where you have just removed the original). Insert the long curve of the spring first and press down firmly (with the supply tool) until the spring locks into place.

    • 6

Lightly press the LaserMax spring and slide the LaserMax switch (replacing the original slide lock) into position. Make sure that the piece is installed with the red dot visible from behind.

    • 7

Reassemble the weapon. Your LaserMax is now installed and operational.
