Place a soft cloth on a table. Remove the magazine from the magazine cartridge. Cock the firing mechanism of the M16. Fire the M16 in a toilet to ensure that there are no BB pellets inside of the firing chamber.
Place the M16 on the soft cloth with the barrel facing to the left. Place the tip of the flat-edged screwdriver against the pin at the front edge of the magazine cartridge.
Hit the back end of the screwdriver with the wrench to push the pin through to the other side. Pull the pin out of the other side.
Repeat this procedure with the pin at the top edge of the trigger guard assembly where it meets the gun stock.
Slide the upper receiver at the top of the M16 forward until it comes off. Place the upper receiver aside.
Remove the screws from around the magazine cartridge gearbox that is at the left side of the M16 frame with the Phillips screwdriver. Pull the magazine cartridge gearbox off the M16 frame.
Remove the screws from around the trigger guard assembly that is behind the magazine cartridge gearbox with the Phillips screwdriver. Pull the trigger guard assembly off the M16.
Remove the screw from beneath the gun stock where it meets the hammer plate of the M16 with the Phillips screwdriver.
Insert the tip of the flat-edged screwdriver into the gap in front of the gun stock at the top where it meets the hammer plate. Pull the tip of the flat-edged screwdriver away from the hammer at the back end of the M16.
Pull the gun stock off the hammer plate. Place the gun stock aside.
Attach the replacement gun stock to the side of the M16 in the same way as that of the original gun stock. Attach the screw beneath the replacement gun stock where it meets the hammer plate of the M16.
Reverse the disassembly process to reassemble the M16. Put the magazine into the magazine cartridge.
