How to Mount an Acog Scope on the Carry Handle

ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight) scopes are manufactured by Trijicon for use with tactical weapons. The ACOG scope is designed to operate without batteries in a variety of lighting conditions. ACOG scopes are compatible with weaver-style scope mounts. The scope can be mounted on your AR-15̵7;s carry handle by first attaching a weaver-style base to your rifle. Mounting a weaver base to your carry handle requires no special tools.

Instructions

  1. Weaver Base Installation

    • 1

Check and verify that your rifle is unloaded.

    • 2

Unscrew the retaining bolt from the bottom of your carry handle weaver base.

    • 3

Place the bolt through the hole on the top of the carry handle; slide the base into position in the slot on top of the carry handle. If properly installed, the base will be parallel with the rifle barrel (if it isn't parallel, the base may be on backwards. Take it off and reinstall).

    • 4

Tighten the retaining bolt, firmly securing the weaver base.

    ACOG Scope Mounting

    • 5

Loosen the mounting screws at the base of the ACOG scope and widen the scope mounting bracket.

    • 6

Place the ACOG scope on the weaver base, aligning the mounting screws with the grooves cut into the base.

    • 7

Align the mounting bracket with the sides of the weaver base and tighten the mounting screws finger tight. Use a flat-head screwdriver and turn the mounting screws an additional ¼ turn.
