How Do I Change Batteries on a Horton Red Dot Scope?

Horton red dot scopes are powered by a single model CR2032 3-volt lithium battery. Horton red dot scopes are equipped with three illuminated red dots that are visible when looking through the scope. Unlike conventional scopes, Horton red dot scopes have unlimited eye relief, which means the dots can be seen regardless of the distance between the shooter's eye and the scope. The versatility of the scope's eye relief allows its use with rifles, shotguns, and handguns.

Instructions

    • 1

Unscrew the cap on top of the brightness adjustment dial (located on top of the scope). If necessary, place a coin in the slot on the cap and turn counterclockwise.

    • 2

Remove the old battery (if installed) and replace with a new CR2032 3-volt lithium battery. The positive side (the flat side with lettering and the + symbol) of the battery must be facing upward.

    • 3

      Screw the cap back on.

    • 4

Check the battery by turning the brightness adjustment dial to any setting and look through the scope. If the battery is operating, the red dots will be visible.

    • 5

Return the brightness adjustment dial back to zero (the unit's off position) when not in use. Not doing so will drain the battery.
