How to Install SKS Muzzle Brakes

Muzzle brakes install at the end of the SKS rifle barrel and are commonly confused with flash suppressors. Although similar in appearance, flash suppressors are designed to reduce muzzle flash, while muzzle brakes reduce the intensity of the SKS's recoil. When a bullet is fired, gases are released forward, sending pressure directly backward, which causes recoil. Muzzle brakes partially divert these gases outward to the sides of the weapon. The reduction in pressure reduces recoil, while the bullet remains unaffected. Muzzle brakes can easily be installed on SKS rifles, making the rifle more manageable and accurate.
