How to Install & Mount a Tapco SKS Hand Grip Rail

The Tapco Intrafuse stock system is a series of replacement components for the original wooden stock and hand grip of the SKS rifle. These parts are constructed of durable polymer plastic and are ergonomically correct. The hand guard has a weaver-style scope mount integrated into its construction. This scope mount provides you the option of quickly attaching scopes or other accessories to your SKS rifle. The Tapco hand grip is made in the United States and is compliant with BATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) regulations.

Instructions

  1. Installing and Mounting a Tapco SKS Hand Grip Rail

    • 1

Check that the rifle is unloaded before changing the hand guard.

    • 2

Place the rifle safety in the on position and press the trigger group release button, located behind the trigger.

    • 3

Pull both the bolt and magazine backward. This action will cause the magazine to pivot forward.

    • 4

Detach the receiver and barrel assembly.

    • 5

Rotate the small lever (on the right side of the rear sight) to its lowest detent and separate the gas tube assembly from the receiver.

    • 6

Remove the original hand grip from the gas tube assembly and (using the original hand grip bracket) replace it with the Tapco hand grip.

    • 7

Place the gas tube assembly back into the receiver and rotate the small lever back to its original position.

    Scope Mounting

    • 8

Loosen the mounting screws of the scope rings and widen the mounting bracket. To mount a scope (or other accessory) to your Tapco hand grip, the scope must be equipped with weaver-style scope rings.

    • 9

Place the scope on the weaver-style base and align the mounting screws with the slots of the weaver base on the hand grip.

    • 10

Adjust the mounting bracket to align with the sides of the weaver base. Tighten the mounting screws. Your scope is now mounted.
