Things You'll Need
Instructions
Unload the revolver. Never clean a loaded gun.
Release the barrel from the gun and tie a rag around the rear cylinder opening to protect the barrel during cleaning.
Dip a bore brush in gun cleaning solvent. The size of the bore brush should correspond to the size of the barrel. The size can be found on the base of the bore brush.
Push the bore brush through the end of the barrel. The brush will naturally twist while entering the barrel. Make sure the brush feeds into the barrel until exiting the other end. Then pull the bore brush back out of the barrel.
Dip a rag into the cleaning solvent and run it into the barrel of the stainless steel gun with the aide of a metal rod. Run the rag through the end of the barrel as you did with the bore brush. Then remove the damp rag and run a dry rag through the barrel with the metal rod. Repeat this step if the stainless steel revolver is especially dirty.
Clean the around the muzzle, barrel and cylinder with a bristle brush dipped in cleaning solvent.
Clean the interior of the cylinder barrels by dipping a bore brush in cleaning solvent and running it through the cylinder barrels in the same fashion you did with the revolver's barrel.
Run a rag dipped in cleaning solvent through the cylinder barrels with a metal rod in the same fashion as you did with the bore brush. Then run dry rags through the barrels of the stainless steel revolver to soak up excess solvent.
Apply gun polish onto a clean rag and rub the exterior of the gun with the rag. Avoid rubbing the polish into the cylinders, barrel and hand grips.
Remove excess polish with a silicon gun cloth.
