Check the stats on your handgun. If you visit the website for the gun or review the specs in your documentation, you get a better feel for the weapon and how to get the most out of it.
Make sure to set your sights properly. Most handgun sights aren't adjustable, but if yours is, adjust it appropriately.
Talk with the rangemaster about true distance, simulated distance and elements of the range. Make sure to ask about weather conditions that might interfere with your shooting and how best to adjust for them, if the range is outdoors.
Apply earplugs and safety glasses in order to prevent personal damage.
Change the setting from "safety" to "semi-automatic" once you're on the range and ready to begin firing.
Aim by lining up the sight with the target. If you're using non-adjustable sights, you'll have to remember the way to get the best accuracy for your particular handgun.
Fire normally, but be aware that more kick occurs as the handgun fires three rounds almost simultaneously.
