Check out the advertisements in various gun collector magazines. You never know what goodies you may find. Magazines such as Man At Arms, Gun Digest and Shotgun News are great resources.
Purchase rifles from acquaintances and friends. Private sellers often offer better deals on rifles.
Apply for a C&R license from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. This allows you to have guns shipped to you when purchased via the Internet.
Join a gun collectors club. Find others with your interest is the best way to expand your collection. One of the best ways to find a gun collector club is to go to the National Rifle Association's list of gun collector clubs.
Check websites such as Auction Arms, Gun Broker and Guns America. These give you an approximate value on what the gun is worth by allowing you to see what similar rifles' purchase prices are.
Verify that your state allows you to have the type of rifles that you want to collect. Each state has different laws so make sure you get the appropriate licenses required by the state.
