Which Watches Use the ETA 2836-2 25 Jewel Automatic Movement?

ETA SA Swiss watch manufacturer produces internal watch movements for a variety of brand-name Swiss watch makers. The ETA 2836-2 is a 25 jewel movement with a balance wheel that oscillates 28,800 times per hour. Instead of a ticking motion, this high-frequency action sweeps the second hand around the face in a smooth, continuous advance. The bi-directional self-winding mechanism has a power reserve of 40 hours and is protected from over-winding by a slip clutch. The ETA 2836-2 is considered ETA's "workhorse" mechanism due to its wide application in many wristwatches, most notably those made by Fortis, Tissot, Mido and Ball.

Fortis Mars 500
- Fortis is a timepiece maker based in Grenchen, Switzerland. The Fortis Mars 500 utilizes the ETA 2836-2 movement. A diver-style chronograph, the Mars 500 is constructed of black-coated titanium with a sapphire crystal and orange luminescent dial face. The Mars 500 is water-resistant to 200 meters and features a large crown for operation in demanding conditions.
Tissot Visodate
- Tissot introduced the first mass-produced Swiss pocket watch in 1853. One hundred years later, the company produced the Visodate 1957 wristwatch. Now reissued with an updated ETA 2836-2 movement, the Visodate case is gilt stainless steel with a sapphire crystal. Face options include platinum, black and silver. The Visodate is water resistant to 30 meters and comes with a crocodile pattern leather strap.
Mido Ocean Star Captain
- Mido, a division of Swatch, manufactures mid-priced Swiss wristwatches. Constructed of 316L stainless steel, the Mido Ocean Star Captain features the ETA 2836-2 movement and a Hesalit crystal. It is water-resistant to 200 meters and includes a transparent caseback for observation of the movement. Available faces are royal blue and black and the strap is black rubber.
Ball Engineer Master II
- Ball of Switzerland powers one of its high-end chronographs with the ETA 2836-2. The
  Engineer Master II Diver is certified by the Swiss government's Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres for precision accuracy. It is housed in a titanium case with a sapphire crystal. Water-resistant to 300 meters, the Engineer Master II dial features self-powered tritium micro gas lights on the hour, minute and second hands, for total-darkness illumination. It is supplied with a satin titanium and steel band.
