Things You'll Need
Instructions
Spray ammonia-free window cleaner onto a lint-free cloth such as those used for cleaning eyeglasses. Do not spray the cleaner directly onto the belt as it can damage some leathers, particularly those that are strongly colored.
Buff the metal surfaces of the belt with the damp cloth, gently working in small circles to clean off any dirt or dust. Do not scrub the surface as some replica belts have a thin metal plating which can come off easily.
Wipe off the excess window cleaner with a fresh, lint-free towel.
Mix 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts food-grade linseed oil in a small container.
Rub the mixture into the leather of your belt with a lint-free cloth, being careful not to get any on the metal portions.
Allow the mixture to sit on the leather overnight, then buff it off with a fresh cloth. The mixture will clean and restore the leather.
