How to Look Up Used Comic Books

Art and antique dealers refer to various references to appraise the condition and value of the things they buy and sell--so do comic book collectors and dealers. The best known price reference is the "Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide," written by Robert M. Overstreet and others and published by Gemstone Publishing. Authors Brent Frankenhoff and Maggie Thompson also publish authoritative books and price guides for used comic books. And some major libraries, including the New York Public Library, collect reference material on the history and cultural significance of comic books.
