How to Use Tin Foil to Stop Noise

      (Resource 1) Get a tin foil insulation shield from any on or offline automotive store. The insulation has a porous foam backing which further helps to deaden noise along with the tin foil.

      (Resource 1) Trim the tin foil insulation to the specifications of your car hood using scissors. You can do this by measuring the dimensions of your car hood or judging the fit by sight.

      (Resource 1) Peel back the tape on the tin foil insulation and place the tin foil insulation under your hood. Roll your hand back and forth over the material to ensure it stays in place.
