How to Fix Dead Atomizers

An e-cigarette is a small electronic smoking device that mimics a real cigarette. An atomizer is the part of an e-cigarette that converts air and nicotine into the vapor that is breathed in. Your atomizer might not work properly if it has an empty or broken cartridge, is dirty or has a loose battery connection. Fix your dead atomizer by refilling the cartridge, cleaning it and adjusting the terminal connections of the battery.

Things You'll Need

  • Liquid dropper
  • Cartridge
  • Fully charged battery
  • Pressurized air
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Distilled water
  • E-juice
  • Bamboo skewer
  • Tissue paper

Instructions

    • 1

Refill your atomizer's cartridge. Blow hard at the threaded end of your atomizer to remove any primer liquid that may be inside of it. Fill the cartridge slowly and carefully with the e-liquid or e-juice using a dropper. Be careful not to overfill it. Place 2 drops directly on the atomizer's metal coil. Connect the cartridge and a fully charged battery to your atomizer.

Clean your atomizer by blowing the end where the screw is located with moderately pressurized air. Put small amounts of rubbing alcohol inside the atomizer, wash it out using distilled water, shake it thoroughly and blow it out using pressurized air. Connect it with a battery that works and put several drops of e-juice into it to get a good amount of vapor from it.

Adjust the terminal connections of the atomizer and the battery if they are not flush with each other. The atomizer terminal cannot reach the battery terminal because it is pushed inside the rubber seat. Stick the pointed end of a bamboo skewer into the atomizer hole and try to raise the brass terminal of the atomizer out of the rubber seat. Do the same for the battery terminal. Wipe the atomizer and battery connectors with a piece of clean tissue paper.
