Returning a Zippo Lighter for Replacement

Zippo guarantees that its multipurpose and pocket lighters can be returned for repair free of charge, regardless of the age or condition of the items. Replacement occurs at the discretion of the company. Abuse and misuse damage are not covered, and the company does not guarantee the finish on either type of lighter. As of 2011, a $5 charge for shipping and handling applies for the repair of multipurpose lighters. The company notes that returns usually take five to six weeks.

Instructions

  Remove the inner compartment from the lighter case in order to allow the fuel to evaporate. Evaporation should take approximately two to three days. Reassemble the lighter once the fuel evaporates.

  Write your personal information on a slip of paper. Include your name, address, phone number and email address. Place the paper inside the container in which you plan to ship your lighter.

  Use protective materials to package and ship the lighter. Wrap the lighter before placing it inside the shipping container by covering the lighter in a layer of tissue paper or newspaper to protect the finish. Wrap the covered lighter in bubble wrap to protect it from impact.

  Use the following address to return the lighter to the company: Zippo Repair Clinic, 1932 Zippo Drive, Bradford, PA 16701. Insure the package. Select a method for shipping that offers package tracking.
