How to Take Out Wrist Bands

Paper wristbands are used at fairs and concerts to show that entrants have paid the admissions fee. The bands have an adhesive strip used to glue the ends of the wristband together. The perforated end is in a pattern of cut out Vs, and when the ends are pulled to remove it, the paper rips and the wristband is ruined. You can take off your concert wristband to save as a memento of the occasion and place it in a frame with your tickets.

Instructions

Examine the end of the wristband and look for the cut-out V pattern in the paper. Press your thumb down onto the wristband where the pattern ends, placing your thumbnail against the paper along the open end of the cut-out Vs at the the top line of the V pattern.

    • 2

Press your thumb hard onto the paper. Have a helper start to slowly and firmly pull on the free end of the wristband.

    • 3

Press down on the paper while your helper pulls it. The bottom end will start to unroll. The underside of the top end of the wristband has glue on it, and it will start to stick to your skin. As the wristband unrolls and pulls apart, move your thumb down so that it is pressing against the area where the glue is being pulled apart. Do this slowly and apply a lot of pressure with your thumb. Eventually, the wrist band will separate and the top end will be stuck to your wrist.

Slowly pull the end that is now stuck to your wrist off by pulling it up away from your skin, starting at the same end of the pattern with the open end of the Vs. Press down on the cut-out Vs as you pull it off so that they don't tearas you pull it off.
