Visit your local antique mall or antique dealer to pick up circulars or fliers about collectible and antique trade shows. There is usually a section in the front of the typical antique mall or store that has a bulletin board containing community circulars and postings about antique fairs, trade shows, flea markets and other events that would interest a collector.
Ask local dealers whether there are other collectors who collect the items that you are interested in. They may be able to give you the names of other local dealers and collectors with whom you can speak. Exploring local networks of collectors often leads to long-term friendships or buying and selling relationships that can be quite profitable.
Search online for other collectors by entering "collectors of (item name)" in the search engine. Societies and clubs of collectors are best if you are looking for companionship because they will typically have message boards and areas on their sites where you can buy, sell or trade items.
Visit online auction sites if you wish to buy more items for your collection or sell your items. Auction sites can connect you with users worldwide who are buying or selling the type of items you are collecting.
