Fundraising
Detach your pop tabs from your aluminum can and collect them for the Ronald McDonald House Charities as local Ronald McDonald Houses throughout the country use the tabs for their fund raising efforts and often partner with schools or other community groups to help collect the tabs. Donate your tabs through a nearby community group or contact your nearest Ronald McDonald house for specific information on how to drop off a large collection.
Bracelet Making
Weave 20 to 25 tabs together to make a bracelet. Fold a strong string in half and leave a knotted loop at the end. Place one end of the string through each hole in the tab, crossing them over each other before taking each end through the opposite hole, making an X. Weave the string through all your tabs, stacking them so each new tab overlaps the previous one halfway. Once your bracelet is long enough, tie it off with a slipknot and use a button or bead at the end to secure it through the loop you left at the beginning of the string.
Recycling
Place your tabs into a recycling bin to have them made into new aluminum cans and pop tabs. Aluminum is 100 percent recyclable and a can with the tab included can be turned into a new can and back in a store within two months, notes the Earth911 website.
