Browse shopping sites such as Amazon and eBay for deals on vintage Scholastic books from the '70s or earlier. According to eBay Guides, Scholastic books from the '50s, '60s and '70s are consecutively numbered within a series and have a series identifier: T, TJ, TK, TX or TW. Scholastic switched to the ISBN (International Standard Book Number) identification method in 1980.
Call auction houses in your area to find out if they have received any vintage Scholastic book collections recently. Write down auction date and times if applicable, or ask for recommendations as to where you might find Scholastic books from the '70s. Also, try Internet auctions, such as Online Auction, for vintage Scholastic books.
Place ads in collection magazines and classified sections of your local newspapers stating your want of 1970s Scholastic books. Let friends and family know you are looking for such books in case they come across any while browsing eBay or going antique shopping.
