How Do I Remove a Forces of Valor Airplane From a Stand?

The clear acrylic stand that comes with your Unimax Forces of Valor airplane is useful for displaying the aircraft in flight or calling attention to its underwing weaponry payload. In some cases, however, you might find that the stand gets in the way of an authentic portrayal of the aircraft --- for example, if you want to make the airplane part of a diorama, or if you want to display it parked on the ground. In these cases, removing the stand is your best option.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold the airplane firmly, gripping it around the wing and cockpit area, lifting it and turning it over to expose where the clear plastic stand slides into the mounting holes on the base of the aircraft.

    • 2

Grip the stand in your other hand and pull carefully to remove it from the airplane. It should move easily --- if it does not, the stand may be caught on part of the airplane. Set the stand aside so that it doesn't get lost.

    • 3

Open the landing gear doors with your fingernail and, when they are fully opened, pull out the retractable landing gear until it's fully extended. Be careful, as the parts may be fragile. If your Forces of Valor model has detachable (rather than moving) landing gear, remove the inserts with a fingernail and then carefully insert the landing gear struts that were included with the model.

    • 4

Set the model down carefully, checking that the landing gear adequately support the airplane's weight. If they appear to be buckling, double-check that you extended them fully to lock them in place.
