Things You'll Need
Instructions
Get hat boxes for your expensive or rare baseball caps. Hat boxes protect your hats from dust, wear and tear. Print out a picture of the hat and tape it to the outside of the box so that you know which hat is in which box.
Set up a clear storage bin with drawers in an area of the house you use for storage. Fill each drawer with several hats, folding in the backs of the hats and stacking the bills on top of each other. This method will keep your hats from getting dusty, but it's not ideal for very expensive hats. Use it for old, worn-in hats.
Build or buy a hanging hat rack. This is a simple rack that screws into your wall and has hooks hanging from it. Hanging hat racks come in different styles and hold a varying number of hats (from four to more than 12). They are a good solution for hats that are in displayable condition, but get worn relatively frequently.
Get an over-the-door hat rack to save space. They typically hold up to 12 hats. They also stylishly display the hats and make them easily accessible.
