How to Find Auctions for Storage Lockers in Washington

Storage unit and locker companies hold auctions throughout the year to empty units that an owner has stopped making payments on. The lockers and units are set for auction after no payment has been received by the storage company. Before the auction, bidders are often able to observe the unit for about one minute from the outside. The winning bid has to clear the unit of all of its contents regardless if the contents are valuable or worthless.

  Look in your local newspaper classified section for upcoming storage unit and locker auctions. The listing should tell you the location, time and date of the auction as well as the number of units or lockers to be auctioned.

  Navigate to a website that lists auctions by location. These sites will allow you to type in a zip code and find upcoming auctions nearby.

  Call local self-storage facilities and ask them if they have any auctions coming up. Note the time, date and the number of units they are auctioning. You can also ask to be added to a mailing list to be notified of upcoming auctions if they offer this.
