How to Clean Vinyl Stickers

Vinyl stickers are used for a variety of purposes. Vinyl stickers offer a convenient way to add signs to windows, bumpers or other smooth surfaces. People use vinyl stickers for self expression, amusement or collecting. Care for and cleaning of the stickers will increase their longevity and appearance. Vinyl stickers that are exposed to elements may require more frequent cleaning that those displayed in protected, indoor environments.

Things You'll Need

Dishwashing liquid
Water
Container
Clean rag

Instructions

  Mix a solution of water with a small amount of dishwashing liquid in a small container.

  Rinse the vinyl sticker, if possible, to remove any abrasive dirt particles.

  Apply the soapy mixture using a clean rag and scrub the entire surface of the sticker. Be careful around the edges, so you do not accidentally curl them.

  Rinse the sticker again with clean water. If necessary, do so using clean water on a second rag to wipe off any remaining soap mixture.

  Allow to air dry or dab with a clean, dry rag.
