How to Paint a Glade Guard

Glade Guards--models of fantasy army units--wear green robes and carry brown bows and arrows. The guards have dark skin and hide their faces. While a traditional Glade Guard color scheme exists, you can use any color scheme you like if you want to create a figurine that is personalized rather than a figurine that matches the standard. To keep your Glade Guard recognizable, paint his robe a dark color and keep his skin earth toned.

Instructions

    • 1

Paint the black undercoat of the Glade Guard. Spray the figurine with black undercoat and allow the undercoat to dry.

    • 2

Apply brown paint using a thin paintbrush. Paint the figurine's bow, arrow, quiver, gauntlets and leather armor brown.

    • 3

Paint the cloak, shirt and hood green using a fine paintbrush. Paint a thin coat, allow it to dry and add a second coat of green.

    • 4

Dip your thin paintbrush in tan paint and apply a few strokes of tan paint to the edges of the boots, belt, armor and quiver. Paint a light coat of tan over the entire surface of these items.

    • 5

Thin a dark brown paint slightly by mixing it with water at a one-to-one ratio. Apply this paint to the arrow fletching, bow handle and bow tips. Allow the paint to dry.

    • 6

Paint the Glade Guard's face with a dark flesh tone.

    • 7

Highlight the green areas of the Glade Guard with a three-to-two mixture of pewter green paint and water. Thin the pewter paint and apply it to the green areas.

    • 8

Paint the Guard's buckles with a dark silver paint.
