A simple shoe box display case can be a good place to start. Easy enough for brand new collectors or aging pros, this fun project gives enthusiasts a quick way to get their models on display. Instructions

    • 1

Decorate the shoe box using construction paper, markers and paint. Personalize it as much as you like. Do the outside and inside. Make it reflect you and the collection you're so proud of. If you want side viewing windows, use a box cutter to cut squares out of the ends of the shoe box.

Set the lid upside down on a flat surface. Use this for your base. Turn the newly decorated shoe box on its side, so the long sides run parallel with the flat surface. Place the shoe box in the lid, and slide it snugly against one side. Make sure the inside of the shoe box is easily visible. Glue the box in place. Wait for the glue to dry.

Arrange your cars in their new display case. Use empty floss boxes or match boxes for pedestals and height variations.
