How to Laser Engrave on a High-Polished Zippo

Personalizing a high-polished Zippo lighter with an engraving is an easy way to make a one-of-a-kind gift or personal keepsake. Do-it-yourself laser engravers are hard to build and potentially dangerous to operate with unpredictable outcomes, so have a professional do the engraving and will most likely be cheaper than trying to build a laser engraver yourself.

  Find an image, a photograph, a logo, a name, or a phrase you wish to have engraved on the Zippo lighter.

  Order the lighter from the Zippo official website and choose to customize the lighter if you wish to have writing put on the lighter. Fill in the text boxes with the desired engraving. Submit the order.

  Order the lighter from another Zippo engraver, such as The Tobacco Barn if you wish to have an image, a photograph, or a logo engraved on the lighter. Some engravers will require a minimum number of lighters to be ordered with the same design, such as 50 pieces for the Tobacco Barn.

  Take an un-engraved high-polished Zippo lighter to a local laser cutting firm if you wish to have just a single or a few lighters engraved with an image, a photograph, a logo, a name, or a phrase. This may be the be best option if the Zippo you wish to have personalized is a family heirloom or previously owned piece.
