How to Mount Your Own Coin Money Clips

Varying in color, style and design, coin money clips make a historical collection worthy of display. Once you have collected antique and contemporary money clips, create a three-dimensional conversation piece in your home by displaying your contrasting collection. By mounting your money clips in a shadowbox or display case that can be hung on a wall or kept on your coffee table, you will protect your collection from damage and turn these pieces of history into modern art.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean your coin money clips with a soft cloth so they are ready for display. Dust off the display case and check the glass door for any smudges.

    • 2

Decide upon the position of your coin money clips in the display case. Lay the display case down and place the coin money clips in an aesthetically pleasing layout. Use your ruler to assure even spacing. When you have decided on the layout, proceed with mounting the coin money clips.

    • 3

Take your black pushpins and put the point through the coin money clip's decorative opening. Push the point gently into the black felt wall of the display case in the desired location.

    • 4

Push a pushpin into the black felt wall where the bottom of the specific coin money clip would be for money clips without decorative openings. Leave the pushpin out from the wall by one-half of an inch. Rest the coin money clip on the pushpin. Take another pushpin and secure the top of the coin money clip to the display wall by pressing it between the pushpin head and the wall.

    • 5

Lift the display case up to ensure all of the coin money clips are securely attached. Close the glass door of the display case and hang in a desirable location on the wall or rest on a clearly visible shelf.
