How to Display Crystals

Purple amethyst, smoky and rose quartz and petrified wood slices are just some of the mineral stones and crystals found in nature. Collectors often go to great lengths to find these natural treasures. They vary in color and luster and are thought to hold some intrinsic value in natural healing practices. Additionally, crystals are aesthetically pleasing items, and there are a number of ways to preserve and flaunt their timeless beauty for years to come.

Things You'll Need

Shadow box
Cigar box or tray
Candle mirrors
Display cabinet
Fabric

Instructions

  Put one or several crystals in a shadow box and hang it on a wall. Add small shelves to display more than one crystal. Use a darker background on the inner portion of the shadow box with lighter-colored crystals to make the crystals stand out more.

  Place individual crystals on small candle mirrors on side tables and other display areas to reflect and exhibit their sparkly nature. Darker crystals look especially beautiful in this type of display. Or, buy a sphere stand to flaunt round crystal shapes.

  Use a cigar box or a tray to show off your crystals. Position black, lustrous fabric inside a cigar box and place several crystals on top of the fabric. Display the crystals in an orderly or random fashion.

  Put crystals, rocks and other minerals in a rock garden or flower bed to enhance your outdoor surroundings and to display nature's treasures. Or, hang crystal prisms on a garden archway or trellis to add shimmer and reflective qualities to your garden area.

  Buy a crystal display cabinet to accommodate and exhibit a collection of crystals and minerals. Some cabinets come with mirrored backs and tiered shelves. Hang your cabinet on a wall or position it on top of a display table.
