Instructions
Take high quality close-up photos of the helmet you wish to identify. If your helmet has any markings or distinguishing characteristics, take photos of these areas as well. Print the photos in a size large enough to see the helmet details clearly.
Access a website that offers a photo identification guide of military helmets. If there is any writing on your helmet, it might help you to determine the country of origin. In this case, scroll down until you find the helmets from that particular country. If you are not sure which country your helmet came from, begin at the top of the helmet identification guide.
Compare your helmet photo (or the helmet itself) with the photos in the online identification guide. Click on each photo to learn more details.
Verify the type of helmet you have by checking all the details in the identification guide. For example, if your helmet matches the photo, check the other identifying marks or components of the helmet to ensure those match as well. The construction material, liner, chin strap and other factors are excellent identifiers in many cases.
