How to Display Bossons Heads

Bossons are ceramic wall decorations, usually in the shape of heads but sometimes animals or landscapes, made by the Bossons family in England from 1946 to 1996. Bossons were distributed all over the world and are prized by collectors for their intricate detail and hand painted surfaces. Bossons were sometimes produced in groupings, such as Shakespearean characters, Men of the Desert or Dogs of Distinction. If you have a collection of your own, how you display them will depend upon your collection and your tastes.

Instructions

    • 1

Display your Bossons in a display case, if you know that they are either very valuable or very delicate. Bossons are meant to hang on the wall, but if you have expensive or fragile pieces you may not want to take any chances with them. You can pick up a nice antique display case with a glass cover so you can still view them even when they are safely tucked away.

    • 2

Display your Bossons together on a single wall, if you want to be able to view your entire collection at once. This is also a great display solution for people who live in households with other individuals who are less enthusiastic about the heads. You can display all of your Bossons together in your study or a guest room, or your living room if you want all of your guests to be able to appreciate them.

    • 3

Display your Bossons in groupings, if you collect them by theme. You can display all your Cats of Character Bossons on one wall in one room, all your Americans Bossons in another and all of your Seafarers Bossons in a third. The groupings are more fun to see when they are all together.

    • 4

Display your Bossons in the room that you think best matches their personalities. For example, you can display all the chefs in your kitchen and all the soldiers in your office.

    • 5

Display your Bossons scattered throughout your house, if you want to display them discreetly. You can hang just one or two Bossons in each room. They'll be less noticeable than they would have been in groupings but you'll still be able to appreciate them.

    • 6

Hang your Bossons at eye level in good light in places where viewers can get close to them. The fine detail is the most interesting thing about Bossons heads.
