Brands of Pens

Even in the Internet age, most people own a pen of some kind. Pens, both fountain and ball point, have become collectible items in their own right, with vintage and original pen brands being highly desirable objects. As well as the usual utility pen brands, many dedicated pen manufacturers treat pens as works of art and strive to introduce new shapes and manufacturing materials to produce portable, functional works of art.
  1. Bexley Pens

    • Bexley Pen Company, based in Columbus, Ohio, uses modern technology to create classic pens that look vintage. Some pen enthusiasts choose Bexley pens for the filigree overlays in their premium line or for the hardened rubber, ebonite material, used which was popular before pens were made of plastic. This attention to detail gives the pens a distinctive and well balanced quality. Each pen is finished by a craftsman who takes the time to individually hand polish and assembled each unit. A range of filling systems is available including pushbutton, cartridges, or piston-actuated converters. Bexley pens come with a lifetime warranty to the registered owner for defects in either manufacturing materials or workmanship, excluding normal wear and tear or intentional misuse or neglect.

    Conklin Pens

    • Established in 1898, Conklin Pens is a manufacturer of high end fountain pens prized by collectors and enthusiasts around the world. Mark Twain's preferred writing instrument was a Conklin pen. A replica of the pen used by Twain is still produced in the Mark Twain Crescent Collection. Other collections include the Endura Collection, a design based on a pen originally released in 1924. The Endura is available in both ball point and fountain pen style and each style features a faceted and polished, 12-sided barrel made from a specially designed resin to replicate a marble effect.

    Taccia Pens

    • This California-based company produces pens designed to be both affordable and stylish. With several design lines from the classic to the colorful and funky, Taccia pens are guaranteed for a lifetime against mechanical defects. The Taccia range of pens include the Jupiter Collection, a small bullet-shaped pen just 3 inches long to fit a small pocket or purse. The pen extends to 5 inches for comfort when being used, and comes in a range of bright colors including Peacock Blue, a Zebra Swirl, Crimson Rose and Tokyo Purple. The latest collection, the Premier Range, is comprised of large, hand-crafted pens made from a mosaic resin. Each comes in a leather presentation box.
