How to Repair a Maurice Lacroix Watch

Maurice LaCroix makes luxury watches that defy description. The watches use mechanical movement and depending on the style, have a hand that shows the reserve power left in the spring. Many styles feature a clear crystal on both the front and the back of the watch to better display the inner workings. Because of the fine and unique craftsmanship, Maurice LaCroix watches must be sent to an authorized service center for any problems. Additionally, the warranty only covers watches purchased from an authorized Maurice LaCroix dealer. But the watch band can be repaired safely at home.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Spread the soft cloth down on a firm work surface. Lay the watch on the cloth.

    • 2

Locate the watch band bracket on either side of the watch case. The spring bars hold the watch band in place. The spring loaded bar presses against two lugs, one on either side of the bracket.

    • 3

Insert the spring bar tool into the side of the bracket. The spring bar tool is a thin strip of metal usually found in jewelry or craft stores. A spatula or thin screw driver will also work well. Press the tool toward the center of the bracket. This will loosen the spring bar, and it will pop out of the bracket.

    • 4

Place the spring bar into the slot in the new watch band. Some new watch bands will already have a spring bar inserted before purchase.

    • 5

Place one side of the spring bar into the lug on one side of the racket. Slide the other end of the spring bar behind the lug on the other side of the bracket. Slowly pull the watch band forward until the spring bar slips into the second lug.
