Replacing a Broken Watchband
Find the watchband brackets on either side of the watch. The tiny spring-loaded bar holds the watchband in the bracket by pressing against two lugs, one on each side of the bracket.
Insert the spring-bar tool into the side of the watchband bracket. The spring-bar tool is a thin piece of metal that can usually be found in jewelry or craft stores. A small spatula or a thin screwdriver will also work.
Press the spring bar toward the center of the bracket. The spring bar will pull out of the lug and pop out of the bracket. Repeat with the second part of the watchband in the other bracket.
Place the spring bar into the slot in the new watchband. Some new watchbands are packaged with the spring bar already in place.
Fit one end of the spring bar into the lug on one side of the bracket. Slide the other side of the spring bar behind the other lug. Gently pull the watchband until the spring bar slips into the second lug. Repeat with the other side of the watchband.
Replacing the Battery
Spread the cloth on a firm work surface. Lay the watch facedown on the cloth.
Look carefully at the back of the watch case. Some Corvette models have a screw-down watch case, while other backs pop into place.
Remove the screws from the back of the watch case. If there are no screws on the back of the watch, look carefully at the seam between the watch case and the back. There will be a notch in one portion of the seam. Place the spring-bar tool into the notch and pry the back of the watch away from the case.
Remove the battery from its place. Take the battery to a jewelry or battery store. Check the battery and purchase a replacement.
Replace the battery in its spot. Screw down the watch back. If there are no screws, gently place the watch back on the watch case. Using two fingers, press the back until it clicks into place.
