The History of the Remington 513T

The Remington 513T is a bolt-action rife manufactured from 1940 to 1968. It is called the Matchmaster since the model "T" is used for target shooting. Overall, Remington manufactured 137,302 of these rifles, and they are highly regarded for their accuracy.
  1. Remington 513T Matchmaster

    • The Remington 513T Matchmaster bolt-action, rimfire rifle uses a .22 caliber long rifle cartridge with six-shot magazine. It has a half-stock with a 27-inch barrel, sling swivels and Redfield aperture sights. A scope is optional, except on the model 513TX that has no sights.

    History

    • Remington manufactured nearly 70,000, 513T rifles for training purposes during World War II. The military particularly liked the rifle for use in training exercises for youth and particularly ROTC groups. Look for "U.S. Property" on the barrel to denote military rifles.

    Dating the 513T

    • Remington 513T rifles can be dated by a letter code stamped on the barrel. The two middle letters indicate the month and year of manufacture. A letter code chart is needed to interpret the code (see Resources).
