Things You'll Need
Instructions
Examine the legs and woodwork surrounding the table, keeping an eye out for large scratches, scuffs or other markings that could drive down the value.
Feel the surface of the table to check to see if the slate underneath the felt is cracked or chipped in any places.
Examine the felt cloth on top of the slate. Look for any stains, tears, or rips, which would reduce the value of the table. These might need to be replaced.
Test the rubber bumpers surrounding the play area by bouncing a pool ball off each side. Rolling the ball with some force, check to make sure the ball bounces back with an appropriate level of force and that the rubber has not worn down over time.
Examine the six pockets on the table; look for any cracks, tears, scuffs or holes.
