Hot Wheels Clubs in Ohio

Hot Wheels is a brand of diecast toy cars established by the toymaker Mattel and introduced to the American public Sept. 7, 1968. Since then the company has produced more than 10,000 different models in a variety of different lines. Based on factors such as age, condition and availability, collectors will pay a few bucks or thousands of dollars for a single car. Hot Wheels collecting is a popular hobby and hundreds of clubs exists across the country.
  1. Mid-Ohio Hot Wheelers Club

    • An active chapter of the official Hot Wheels Newsletter, the Mid-Ohio Hot Wheelers Club was founded in 1997 and meets the second Saturday of every month in Shelby, Ohio. Dues are $10 a month for an e-mailed newsletter and a monthly postcard notifying members of meeting information. Members can also pay $20 a month for a 10-page, full-color newsletter titled the Mid-Ohio Hot Wheels Newsletter.

      The Mid-Ohio Hot Wheelers Club is a sponsor of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and has donated more than $7,000 to various charities since 2002. Members are required to bring a packaged Hot Wheels car to each meeting. These cars are subsequently donated to a number of foundations.

      The club also designs a custom Club Car every year.

    Greater Cincinnati Hot Wheels Club

    • The Greater Cincinnati Hot Wheels Club was founded in 2009 and meets the third Saturday of every month in Cincinnati, Ohio, or the surrounding area.

      The club is a family-oriented organization with monthly activities, food, guest speakers, competitions, charity events and a swap meet hour. The swap meet hour takes place after normal club hours and provides members with an opportunity to buy, sell and trade Hot Wheels collectables with fellow members.

      Other club activities include games, custom shows and racing on custom tracks. The GCHWC also designs a custom Club Car every year.

    Northeast Ohio Hot Wheels Club

    • The Northeast Ohio Hot Wheels Club meets once a month in Brunswick, Ohio. Members of the club participate in a wide array of activities including buying, selling and trading Hot Wheels products with other NOHWC members; attending a variety of toy and collectable shows through the year; raising money for various charities, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation; and participating in a handful of club games, including car races on custom-made tracks.

      The club also hosts the annual NOHWC Classic Diecast Show. Admission is $3 and $15 for a table for buying, selling and trading. A Limited Event Car is available, as well as trophies for a Downhill Racing contest and a Custom Car contest.
