History
Josiah Wedgwood founded the Wedgwood Company in 1759 after a five-year partnership with Thomas Whieldon, England's most famous potter at the time. Wedgwood's first major success came in 1765 when his cream earthenware was honored with the designation of "Queen's Ware." Five years later he created a set of dinnerware for Catherine II of Russia. His crowning success was the formulation of Jasperware, recognized by its classic tinted background and raised white figures in relief.
Collaborations
The Wedgwood company is partnered with other prestigious designers, creating quality items with high name recognition. Vera Wang and Martha Stewart are just two of the designers who have collections with Wedgwood. Even the fictional Peter Rabbit boasts a set of children's ware.
Wedgwood Production Lines
Wedgwood is famous for its dinnerware and vases, but their production lines don't stop there. The company also carries selections of holiday items, glassware, flatware, picture frames, accent items and candle holders.
