How to Sell Old Diamonds

When looking for some extra cash, it is possible to sell some of your old diamonds. These may be stand-alone diamonds or diamonds set in jewelry. However, the diamond is part of a piece of jewelry, it is possible to sell the valuable stone to several different locations. You may want to shop around for the best price for your diamonds and never mail out the product, as you not only don't know how much you might receive for the diamonds, but it is possible to lose the diamonds during shipment.

  Talk to family members and friends. If they have an eye for your jewelry, you might be able to get the best price out of them, especially if it is a family heirloom that they want to hold onto.

  Stop by a jewelry store that purchases gold and diamonds. You are going to receive less than face value for this, but if you are strapped for cash, it is your best bet for sure money.

  Visit an antique store. Many antique stores specialize in old jewelry, so it is possible to sell your diamonds here. However, they may ask you to come back with the diamonds at a time when a diamond expert is on hand so they can inspect your jewelry.

  Take the old diamonds into a pawn shop. This isn't highly recommended as you are probably going to receive the lowest offer for the diamonds here. However, in some locations around the country, this may be your only option.
