How to Put Fuel in a Zippo Lighter

Zippo lighters have been around since the early 1930s. They come in many styles and colors, which makes them eye-catching. You can even order your own personalized Zippo lighter. One of the best features about the Zippo lighter is that it is refillable. When your Zippo lighter runs out of fluid, it only takes a few minutes to refill the lighter, and it’s as good as new.

Zippo lighter
Lighter fluid

Instructions

  Pull the Zippo lighter's shell off the inside casing. You will see a felt pad on the bottom of the lighter’s insert.

  Lift up the felt pad at the corner. Insert the tip of the can of lighter fluid into the fuel chamber.

  Tilt the lighter down so that the lighter fluid can flow into the packing material in the fuel chamber. The fluid will slowly be absorbed into the packing material. Once the packing material is full of lighter fluid, remove the can of fluid.

  Wipe off any fluid that has leaked onto the lighter's insert. Once the insert is clean and dry, slide it back into the Zippo lighter's casing.
