Things You'll Need
Instructions
Heat the label with a hairdryer until the adhesive starts to soften. Hold the hairdryer a few inches away from the magazine cover and heat it for several minutes on a medium setting. Using a heat setting that is too high could scorch the paper.
Soak the label with lighter fluid. Let the fluid sit on the label for several minutes before gently peeling it off the magazine cover. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling lighter fluid and be cautious to keep the magazine away from heat and flames. Once the lighter fluid evaporates and dries, it should not leave a visible residue on the cover.
Use an adhesive remover such as Goo Gone or un-du to remove the label and the sticky residue from the magazine cover. Use Goo Gone on thick, high gloss magazine covers; this product can damage low-quality covers. Un-du is safe to use on most surfaces and does not leave a visible residue behind once it dries completely.
