Ideas for Displaying Award Ribbons

People love hanging on to all of the award ribbons that they or their children receive. One or two are easy enough to deal with, but how about 20 or 40? If you have an abundance of award ribbons that are becoming nothing more than clutter, it is time to do something about it. By properly displaying your award ribbons you will clear the clutter and show off all of your achievements all at once.
  1. Streamers

    • Streamers are a fun and festive way to display ribbons. Take a soft craft rope or a plastic chain with large links and hang it vertically on the wall. Use laundry clips, paper clips or pins to attach the award ribbons to the rope or chain.

    Picture Perfect

    • Display your award ribbons with shadow boxes. Depending on how many ribbons you have, you may need several boxes. You can organize the awards by category. You can also dedicate one shadow box to first-place ribbons, another to second-place ribbons and so on. The ribbons can be organized by color as well. Shadow boxes can be found at crafts stores.

    Functional Headboard

    • If you are looking for a way to display your award ribbons without using space, you can create your own headboard. First, buy a large cork board that will fit the bed. The cork board can be left as is or you can cover it with a decorative fabric, gluing or stapling the fabric to the back of the board. Use thumb tacks or push pins and attach the ribbons to the board. Then hang the cork board to the wall as you normally would but place it in a position to act as a headboard.
