Things You'll Need
Instructions
Take pictures of your VHS collection to put up on an online auctioning Website like amazon.com or ebay.com. Write a brief description of the collection's titles. Figure out how much it would take to ship the collection by taking it down to the post office and having it weighed. Indicate on your site how much the shipping and handling will cost the buyer.
Post an ad on a community Website like craigslist.com. There will be a section for selling electronics where you can feature your collection. Use a picture of your collection and write a detailed description. Buyers are more inclined to purchase items online when pictures and descriptions are included. Include your phone number and check your e-mail frequently.
Host a garage sale. Create fliers to put in your neighborhood. Showcase your collection by placing the tapes in bookcases or on a folding table. You can separate you collection by hit movies and lesser-known films. Price your items higher in the early morning when there is a larger garage sale buzz. Lower them according to how willing you are to part with your collection.
Visit your local pawn shop. Some pawn shops will buy VHS tapes at a low price to sell. Make sure you bring proper identification, such as a driver's license or passport.
Give your VHS collection to charity. Many charities have thrift stores that sell items to benefit the nonprofit organization. Place your collection in a bag and take it to one of the charity's drop-off centers.
